Radio Studies I

Two studies exploring static noise as musical material. Both pieces work exclusively with radio signals — FM and AM — recorded without any additional processing beyond selection and framing. What is normally dismissed as interference between stations becomes the sole subject of focused listening.

1.1 draws from FM noise, its narrow frequency range producing a continuous, almost oceanic texture. 1.2 turns to AM, where a broader spectrum yields a more restless and articulated sonic field. Together, they propose a shift in perception: the unwanted signal as composition.
