About
Jacob Aran is a sound and media artist based in Weimar. His practice moves between composition, performance, and installation, with a strong focus on electroacoustic and experimental sound.
At the core of his work is an exploration of auditory perception, listening habits, and the materiality of sound. Noise functions as a central aesthetic and conceptual element, alongside field recordings, music programming, and multichannel composition. Spatial contexts play a crucial role in shaping his works, which often unfold as immersive sonic environments that engage listeners physically and perceptually.
Conceptually framed yet open to intuitive processes, his practice navigates the intersections of sound, space, and resonance — ranging from urban soundscapes to abstract noise textures and radiophonic phenomena. Jacob Aran is currently studying Media Art with a focus on electroacoustic music at Bauhaus University Weimar.
