RESO PET
In response to the theme of the 16th brau.Art, I approached the material aspect of plastic through sound. The result is the sound installation RESO PET.
Once removed from the reusable circulation system, the PET bottle is brought to eye level and transformed into an object of sound and art. Bathed in colored light, the bottles are statically distributed throughout the space and emit sound from within. Small loudspeakers inside the bottles play both recordings of the sound produced by blowing across a bottle and frequency-modulated sine tones.
Within a cyclical multichannel composition, the inherent resonances of the different bottles are explored. Visitors are free to move between the bottles—and thus within the soundscape.
